Fire & Smoke Damage Restoration

Professional restoration of fire, smoke and soot-affected properties, including contamination assessment and restoration planning.

24/7 Emergency Response | Fire • Smoke • Soot • Odour • Restoration

About This Service

Following a fire, damage can extend well beyond the areas directly affected by flames. Smoke, soot, combustion residues, fire odours and suppression water can migrate throughout the structure and affect building materials, contents and concealed areas.

Fixora Restorations provides a professional response to assess, mitigate and restore fire and smoke-affected properties. From emergency make-safe and damage assessment through to specialist cleaning, deodorisation and reinstatement, we manage the restoration process from initial response through to recovery.

Our technicians assess the type and extent of fire, smoke and soot contamination to determine appropriate restoration requirements and identify materials that can be restored or require replacement. We work alongside property owners, businesses and insurers, providing photographic documentation, restoration reporting and clear progress updates throughout the project.

How Fixora Handles Fire Damage

At Fixora Restorations, our IICRC-trained Fire & Smoke Restoration Technicians (FSRT) follow a systematic approach to the restoration of fire-affected properties.

Every project begins with a detailed assessment of the fire damage, smoke migration, soot residues, odour contamination and affected building materials. This allows an appropriate restoration scope to be established before remediation begins.

Depending on the loss, restoration may incorporate controlled removal of non-restorable materials, HEPA cleaning, specialist surface cleaning, contents restoration, odour remediation, structural drying and reinstatement.

Our objective is to restore affected materials wherever technically and economically practical, while appropriately managing materials that cannot be restored.

Throughout the project, Fixora provides photographic documentation, restoration reporting, progress updates and coordination with property owners and insurers.

Frequently Asked Questions

How soon should restoration start after a fire?+

Fire and smoke restoration should commence as soon as the property has been declared safe for access and released by the relevant authority. Prompt mitigation helps limit secondary damage associated with soot, smoke residues, corrosion, odour contamination and fire-suppression water.

Can my property and belongings be restored after a fire?+

In many cases, yes. Restorability depends on factors including the severity of fire and heat damage, type of smoke residue, material composition and extent of contamination. We assess affected materials to determine what can reasonably be restored and what requires removal or replacement.

How do you remove smoke and soot after a fire?+

Smoke and soot residues vary depending on the materials involved in combustion and the conditions of the fire. Different residues and surfaces require different restoration methods. The contamination is assessed before an appropriate cleaning and restoration approach is established.

Will the smoke smell completely go away?+

Our objective is to address fire and smoke odours at their source rather than simply mask them. The effectiveness of odour remediation depends on the type of combustion, severity of contamination, material porosity, smoke penetration and duration of exposure. Professional remediation is undertaken with the objective of achieving a clean, neutral environment.
